Mass with Bishop Gainer
Bishop Ronald Gainer of the Diocese of Harrisburg will visit St. Joseph Parish today. He will celebrate the 10:30 am Mass in the Ordinary Form and the 1:00 pm Mass in the Extraordinary Form.
Due to the COVID protocols in place, this will be a limited pastoral visit, meaning that his visit is limited to celebrating Mass and reviewing the sacramental registers. The downstairs chapel will be equipped for live streaming in the event that overflow seating is needed.
Seating
Ushers will seat you upon arrival in the vestibule. Pews are roped off ever 3 pews.
Holy Communion
Holy Communion will be distributed after Holy Mass using the Traditional Rite for the Administration of Holy Communion Outside Mass. Come forward one person at a time, kneel in the gateway of the altar rail, and receive on the tongue. Please do not touch the altar rail.
Confession Update
There are currently two options for the Traditional Form of Confession in Lancaster:
- Fridays from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the main church at St. Mary’s Church in downtown Lancaster. Fr. Olkowski is in one confessional, and Fr. Pistone is in another. If you seek the traditional absolution, simply tell Fr. Olkowski that you attend the Traditional Latin Mass and he will automatically provide the traditional form.
- Saturdays from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. at St. Joseph Church in the Adoration Chapel. Fr. Howard will offer the traditional form upon request. Simply ask for the traditional rite of absolution when you kneel down.
We are still working on plans in 2021 for Fr. Johannes to regularly offer Low Mass and Confession during the week. Stay tuned for more information.
