Celebrating 15 years of Catholic Tradition in Lancaster (2008 – 2023)
Masses are currently offered at two different locations: St. Joseph Church and Holy Family Chapel, both in Lancaster.
Rorate Caeli Mass
Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at 6:30 a.m.
A sung Rorate Caeli Mass will be held on Saturday, December 14th at 6:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s.
This is a traditional Advent devotion wherein the Votive Mass of the Blessed Virgin Mary for Advent is offered just before dawn. Accompanied by candlelight in an otherwise dark church, the interplay of light and darkness speak to the meaning of Advent and the coming of the Light of the world.
The Mass takes its title, Rorate Caeli, from the first words of the Introit, which are from Isaiah 45:8:
Rorate, caeli, desuper, et nubes pluant justum, aperiatur terra, et germinet Salvatorem.
Drop down dew, ye heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain the just: let the earth be opened and bud forth a Saviour.

Please note that Christmas Day Mass is typically offered at 11 a.m.
Holy Family Chapel at Historic St. Mary’s Church

Typically, Masses are offered at 7:30 AM Tuesday through Friday and at 8:00 AM every Saturday. Holy Rosary and Confessions begin at 7:05 AM on weekdays and at 7:35 AM on Saturdays. The schedule is announced on a weekly basis. To receive the schedule, please sign up for our mailing list.
Holy Family Chapel is on the 2nd floor of the old convent at Historic St. Mary’s Church, 119 South Prince St., Lancaster. The entrance is in the rear of the building via the parking lot. Take the elevator (via the entrance on left) or the stairs (via the entrance on right) to the 2nd floor and the Chapel will be to your left. If all the spaces are full, there is additional parking on the street and in the parking garage across the street.
Confession
Saturdays: 4:00 to 4:45 PM
Sundays: 12:15 to 12:45 PM

There are also a couple other options for the Traditional Form of Confession in Lancaster:
- Before daily Masses offered at Holy Family Chapel in Lancaster.

- Fridays from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. in the main church at St. Mary’s Church: 119 South Prince Street, Lancaster, PA Fr. Olkowski is in one confessional, and Fr. Pistone is in another. If you seek the traditional absolution, simply ask Fr. Olkowski for the traditional form.
