Our Seminarians

The Lancaster Latin Mass Community has a long-established custom of welcoming seminarians from Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Those who have participated over the years have enjoyed:

  1. Prayerful participation in Choir
  2. Service as Master of Ceremonies
  3. Service as Subdeacon for Solemn High Mass
  4. Service as Deacon for Solemn High Mass
  5. Singing Latin chant and polyphony with our Schola

The presence of seminarians at our First Sunday Socials has helped to raise awareness and pastoral understanding of the culture of Traditional Catholics and served to encourage vocations to the priesthood through positive interactions with members of our Knights of the Altar Society.

Seminarians who plan to enroll in the following elective seminary course would find our seminarian outreach and support effort worthwhile.

Instruction in serving and celebrating Low Mass in the Extraordinary Form, including practice celebrations. Open only to 4th year students whose bishops have either required or given permission for them to learn the celebration of the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite (1962 Missal). Prerequisite: LATN 950-960 Ecclesiastical Latin I and II, or their equivalent. Pass/Fail.

Seminarians of any year with an interest in visiting our community are warmly invited to contact Fr. Pang Tcheou, Pastor, St. Joseph Church to make arrangements to assist in our liturgical, devotional and pastoral activities.

Past Seminarians

Our most recent Seminarian is now Father Sam Miller who was ordained to the sacred priesthood of our Blessed Lord on Saturday, June 1, 2019.

Thanks to the generosity of the members of our Lancaster Latin Mass Community, we were able to procure an exquisite antique (circa 1919) Roman vestment set (fiddleback-style).

Our community came together in a splendid fashion to surpass our fundraising goal!

We hope to present our gift to Fr. Miller when he visits us to celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving later this year.
